Merrifield Consultants is delighted to partner with Epilepsy Research UK to find their new Head of Fundraising to develop and execute a sustainable fundraising strategy to support the Epilepsy Research Institute's mission. We are looking for an experienced fundraising manager with particular experience in Major Gifts, with an appetite to manager and grow all income streams in a team of three.

The Epilepsy Research Institute serves as the central hub for the epilepsy research community. Their mission is to radically advance research into the causes, prevention and treatment of epilepsy and associated conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy, in alignment with the Institute's overall strategy, to increase income and diversify revenue streams.
Lead on the implementation and delivery of fundraising, ensuring we meet all fundraising objectives and KPIs.
Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with high-net-worth individuals, Trusts and corporate partners, to maximise funding opportunities.
Ensure the Epilepsy Research Institute is compliant with the charity commission and all relevant aspects of the Fundraising Regulator's Code of Fundraising Practice.
Maintain oversight of fundraising income and sign off expenditure, taking responsibility for phasing, budgeting and forecasting across the fundraising team.
Provide leadership, mentorship and professional development support to the Community and Events Manager, ensuring high performance.
Oversee the challenge events and community fundraising work of the Institute, supporting the Community and Events Manager in the delivery of this work as required
Experience and Skills
Demonstrable experience of managing key fundraising income streams including corporate, trusts and foundations and major donor.
Proven track record of creating compelling bids and proposals.
Experience of leading and managing teams.
Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and steward donors and supporters effectively.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Confidence in working with CRM databases.
