Exciting Opportunity for a Head of Geography in Slough
GSL Education Watford is seeking a number of dynamic and experienced Head of Geography to join our client schools in Slough. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to provide leadership and support to students within the school community.
As the Head of Geography, your responsibilities will include:
Leading the Geography department and ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
Developing and managing the Geography curriculum in line with national standards.
Supporting and mentoring departmental staff to foster professional growth.
Using data to track student progress and implement strategies for improvement.
Promoting a passion for Geography through engaging lessons, trips, and enrichment activities.
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience teaching Geography, with a strong track record of student progress and achievement.
Previous leadership experience within a department or the ambition to step into a leadership role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and support both staff and students.
Excellent organisational skills and a strategic mindset.
A commitment to promoting high standards, inclusivity, and the ethos of the school community.
Must hold an enhanced, Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
