Head of HR | Luxury Retail | London / North West | 5 Days On Site
Zachary Daniels are delighted to be partnering exclusively with an established, family-owned luxury retail business to recruit a Head of HR.
This is a rare opportunity to join a highly respected British brand and lead its people agenda, partnering directly with the Managing Director, family owners and Executive Leadership Team.
We're particularly interested in speaking to senior HR leaders from the London luxury, premium retail and hospitality market who would be excited by the opportunity to join a successful family-owned business and have real influence over its future people agenda.
This is a fully on-site leadership role with no home-working element. Whilst the business has a significant presence in London, the Head of HR will be predominantly based from the North West head office five days per week, alongside regular travel to London and across the wider business.
This is a broad role where being present really matters. We're looking for someone who wants to get under the skin of the business, spend time with its people and understand the personalities and dynamics within the organisation, whilst also shaping the longer-term people strategy.
What you'll be doing:
Acting as a trusted adviser to the Managing Director, family owners and Executive Leadership Team
Developing and delivering a commercially focused people strategy
Being a highly visible and approachable HR presence across the organisation
Building trusted relationships with colleagues at every level of the business
Coaching and challenging senior leaders around people, performance and organisational matters
Leading organisational change, restructures and wider transformation projects
Managing complex ER matters and providing expert UK employment law guidance
Taking ownership of recruitment across the business and ensuring the right talent is attracted and recruited
Reviewing and evolving HR policies, processes and ways of working
Using people insight and data to support commercial decision-making
Overseeing the full employee lifecycle, from attraction through to exit
Building and developing the HR function for the futureAbout you:
You'll already be operating at Head of HR, senior HR Manager or HR Director level and have the credibility and confidence to partner closely with business owners and an Executive Leadership Team.
You'll be commercially minded, pragmatic and relationship-led, with the ability to balance strategic thinking with rolling your sleeves up and getting involved when needed.
You'll bring strong generalist HR leadership experience, excellent UK employment law knowledge and experience of complex ER, organisational change and developing people initiatives that support business performance.
Experience within luxury retail, premium retail, hospitality or another high-touch customer environment would be particularly advantageous.
For someone currently London-based, you must be comfortable with significant weekly travel to the North West and spending meaningful time at the head office.
Please note, this role is five days on site with no hybrid or home-working option.
If you're looking for an opportunity where you can be close to the business and its people, influence at the very top and genuinely shape the future people agenda, we'd love to hear from you.
