Head of IT – Oxford (New site)
Hybrid | 2 days onsite | Perm | c.75–90k + package
We’re supporting a scaling business with serious growth plans—distributed teams, tech-heavy operations, and a track record of investing in digital transformation rather than just talking about it.
This isn’t about babysitting systems. It’s about leading a step change across infrastructure, security, cloud, and operational technology—with the backing of an exec team that sees IT as strategic.
The Role
You’ll own and deliver the IT roadmap—balancing short-term performance with long-term modernisation. This includes everything from network architecture to cyber resilience, cloud strategy to team development.
You’ll:
* Shape and deliver IT strategy across a complex setup of distributed teams and systems
* Oversee infrastructure, cyber, cloud, comms, and operational tooling
* Lead and grow a hands-on IT team
* Run budgets, manage vendors, and drive project delivery
* Act as the go-to for IT with internal stakeholders and external partners
What You’ll Bring
* Senior-level IT leadership in a complex or regulated business
* Strong infrastructure and cyber security credentials
* Experience across cloud platforms (Azure ideal), DR/BCP, and operational tooling
* The people side: team development, stakeholder influence, and cross-business collaboration
* Familiarity with frameworks like ITIL, PRINCE2, or CISSP

* Experience with field tech or industrial systems
