Job Description

Head of Learning Support Hull, East Yorkshire £43,157 per annum (FTE) Permanent - Full-Time (37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year) Are you an experienced SENCO or senior support lead with a vision for inclusive education? We're working with a further education provider in Hull that's looking to appoint a strategic and values-driven Head of Learning Support to lead and manage teams of practitioners of all types of which include SEND, ALS, English and Maths. If you're ready to make a college-wide impact, we want to hear from you. 🔹 Essential requirements: Degree-level qualification (or equivalent professional qualification) Qualified SENCO with high-level safeguarding training In-depth experience in learner support, SEND and safeguarding across FE and HE Proven track record of leading teams and securing 'Good' or better Ofsted outcomes Strong understanding of EHCP processes, ALS funding, and LA liaison Confident managing budgets, analysing data, and leading service development 🔹 Your responsibilities will include: Leading all aspects of learner support across the college - including SEND, ALS, and English/maths Ensuring high-quality support is delivered for learners with learning difficulties, disabilities and sensory needs Managing a cross-college team of specialist staff and ensuring effective deployment and CPD Supporting learners at all transition points (pre-entry, enrolment, post-induction) Working with curriculum leads, tutors, parents, SENCOs and external agencies Overseeing learner risk assessments, EHCP reviews and audit readiness Representing the college externally at events, inspections and stakeholder meetings 🔹 What's in it for you: 31 days annual leave plus bank holidays and up to 3 additional days at Christmas Flexible working options available Opportunities for progression and meaningful CPD Excellent pension scheme Supportive, inclusive and forward-thinking working culture Important Notice Dovetail and Slate is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, applicants and clients to share this commitment.
