Location: UK Wide – with travel to Warrington and Larbert

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a strategic and commercially driven Head of Liquid Fuels Sourcing to lead a national sourcing function within a major UK energy and mobility business.
This senior leadership position is responsible for managing a liquid fuels portfolio of approximately 4 billion litres annually, ensuring best-in-market contracts, building resilient supplier relationships, and driving commercial performance across the business.
Reporting to the Supplies Director, you will lead a team of sourcing, demand planning, and pricing professionals, delivering operational excellence and ensuring the sourcing strategy supports business growth and market evolution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end tender and contract management for the liquid fuels category.
Build and strengthen strategic supplier relationships to ensure supply security and competitive pricing.
Oversee sourcing governance and ensure contract terms align with market conditions and demand forecasts.
Provide strategic oversight of supplier performance and engagement.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team across sourcing, planning, and pricing functions.
Collaborate with regional teams to align sourcing activity with operational requirements.
Drive continuous improvement in sourcing efficiency, risk management, and cost optimisation.
Represent the business in supplier negotiations and key partnership meetings.
What We’re Looking For
Strong background in fuel procurement, energy sourcing, or related commodity sectors.
Proven experience in leading high-performing teams within a complex, fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated expertise in tendering, negotiation, and end-to-end contract management.
Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
Commercially astute with solid financial and analytical capability.
Flexible to travel nationally to engage with regional teams and suppliers.
Desirable:
Degree qualified or QBE with strong analytical and financial understanding.
Experience managing large-scale sourcing portfolios within the energy or commodities sector.
Credibility and presence when engaging senior leaders and strategic partners.
