A creative and inclusive school in Yeovil is looking for an experienced Head of Music to lead their dynamic music department. Music is a valued part of the curriculum and school culture, with extensive extracurricular opportunities and performance traditions.
The Role
You’ll oversee curriculum planning, coordinate peripatetic teaching, and lead ensembles, choirs, and school productions. The department is supported by a dedicated music technician and benefits from purpose-built practice and recording spaces.
Responsibilities

Design and deliver engaging music curriculum from KS3–KS5
*
Lead school concerts, musical productions, and performance tours
*
Manage peripatetic team and student instrumental/vocal tuition
*
Encourage composition, music technology, and music theory skills
*
Promote participation in county-level music schemes and competitions
The Ideal Candidate
*
QTS with a degree in Music or Music Education
*
Experience teaching BTEC or GCSE/A-Level Music
*
Strong leadership and administrative capabilities
*
Proficiency in a range of musical styles and instruments
