Head of Operations – North West – Hybrid / Flexible Working – Permanent – £60–70k + Car or Allowance + 8% Pension Contribution
Samuel Frank is recruiting a Head of Operations to join a small but well-established industrial automation consultancy located on the south side of Manchester.
The successful Head of Operations will take responsibility for running the business’s day-to-day operations, including the engineering team, and will be someone who thrives on autonomy and accountability in a small, high-performing business environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Head of Operations;
* Develop and deliver operational strategies aligned with the company’s growth objectives
* Lead, motivate, and grow a team of client-facing engineers and consultants
* As Head of Operations, drive digital transformation and process optimisation across all functions
* Promote a high-performance culture, supporting talent development and succession planning
* Manage P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and commercial approvals
* Drive a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement
* Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and partners
* Oversee compliance, risk management, quality, and safety standards
The company operates across multiple sectors, and the Head of Operations will play a key role in delivering automation and control solutions within the chemical, power generation, and food & beverage industries.

This Head of Operations position offers genuine flexibility and a healthy work–life balance. You’ll have full control of your time — whether that’s taking a longer lunch for the gym or adjusting your hours to suit your lifestyle.
* Core office day: Monday (all team members)
* Most also attend on Wednesdays; otherwise, work from home or visit customer sites
* 37.5-hour working week
* 25 days’ holiday plus 8% employer pension contribution (no employee contribution required)
The office is commutable from most areas of the North West, especially given the hybrid working model.
