Head of Production Engineering
Plymouth | Up to £55,000 plus bonus | Day Shift | Full-Time | Permanent
Introduction

Key Duties:
Lead and manage the Production Engineering team, overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Mentor and support the professional development of production engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Identify and implement best practices in manufacturing processes, material utilisation, and tooling to enhance efficiency and quality.
Demonstrate expertise in assembly processes, including accurate assessment of time and resource requirements.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure engineering processes meet industry standards and support operational excellence.
Apply advanced knowledge of welding techniques-including spot, projection, MIG, TIG, and robotic welding-to support process development and troubleshooting.
Requirements:
Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
Management qualification or BEng in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent time-served role.
Proven ability to implement best practices in manufacturing processes, material utilisation, and tooling.
Strong understanding of assembly processes and accurate assessment of time and resource requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
