Head of Pupil Services An opportunity has arisen for a Head of Pupil Services to join a Good Academy in the borough of Newham from September. The School This large academy based in the heart of Newham is currently looking to recruit a Head of Pupil Services to join their team from September. The successful Head Teacher together with his very forward-thinking Senior Leadership Team are fully focused on achieving the best possible educational outcomes for their pupils. There is a big emphasis on ensuring that pupils achieve their goals by making sure that they are taught by skilled specialist teachers who really know their subjects. Staff are encouraged to plan together, and this will involve both teaching and support staff affiliated with each department. There are high expectations of teaching staff to ensure that the lessons they are delivering are of a good standard, as the more engaging the lesson, the more likely the children will behave well. Their most recent Ofsted states 'The staff have shaped an inclusive and welcoming school environment where pupils are safe and feel safe. Teachers typically deliver lessons that engage and motivate students to learn. All staff understand the schools vision and they are committed to the school community.' The school is based within walking distance of London Underground and Overground links. Head of Pupil Services This large academy are looking to recruit a Head of Pupil Services to join their team. The overall purpose of this job is to provide strategic leadership and operational management of all pupils across the academy, ensuring smooth and efficient day-to-day running of Recpetion, General Administration, Attendance, Admissions, Pastoral Services, Cover, First Aid, Free School Meals, Medical Healthcare Plans, Students Immunisation Programmes, and the Senior Leadership Team's diary and meeting coordination. The postholder will also be responsible for delegated budget management within pupil services. The role is full-time and they are looking for someone who is able to commit to the full year. The role will be offered on a term- perm basis for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities: Lead, manage and develop all pupil services staff across the academy, promoting a positive, efficient, and students-focused service. Act as the key point of contact for all pupils services related matters for students, parents, staff, and external agencies. Maintain effective communication channels across the academy to ensure consistency and quality of services.Operational Areas: Reception and General Administration. Attendance. Admissions. Pastoral Services. Cover Management. First Aid. Free School Meals. Medical Healthcare Plans and Immunisations. Senior Leadership Team Support.Other Responsibilities: To uphold the Academy's disciplinary rules and staff code of conduct. To follow the Academy's health and safety requirements. To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and to follow the relevant policies and procedures. To contribute to the maintenance of a caring and stimulating environment for young people. To always act in accordance with the statutory frameworks that set out how the Academy must operate. To carry out any other reasonable duties with the scope of the post as directed by the Headteacher.The right applicant for this Head of Pupil Services role will have: Proven experience in a school or education administration and leadership. Knowledge of school admission and attendance procedures. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, staff, parents and external partners. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team. Able to be pro-active and act on own initiative. Experience of budget management. Ability to work under pressure, priorities competing demands, and meet deadlines.
