The Role
As Head of Quality, you’ll lead and develop the organisation’s quality function, ensuring our assessments, teams, and partners consistently meet the highest standards. Reporting to the Operations Director, your role will combine strategic oversight with hands-on leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
Leadership & People
*
Lead and inspire a network of Internal and External Quality Assurers
*
Foster collaboration, performance, and accountability
*
Provide clear quality reporting to senior leadership
Operational Excellence
*
Ensure compliance with Ofqual and CASS requirements
*
Oversee internal audits, assessor performance reviews, and IQA checks
*
Deliver robust, timely assessment outcomes in line with service levels
Strategic & Sector Influence
*
Develop and embed the organisation’s CASS strategy
*
Contribute to standardisation, webinars, and assessment improvements
*
Collaborate with leaders across assessment, delivery, and client services
*
Use your construction expertise to drive sector-specific innovation
About You
You are an experienced quality leader who understands the balance between compliance, operational delivery, and sector relevance. You’ll bring:

Proven leadership experience within a quality function (apprenticeships or awarding body)
*
Strong background in construction (essential)
*
Demonstrable success in managing IQA/EQA processes and regulatory frameworks
*
Knowledge of auditing, Ofqual compliance, CASS, and standardisation
*
Ability to lead both internal teams and freelance quality professionals
*
Relevant qualifications in quality or leadership (desirable)
