Are you an experienced commercial leader with a successful track record of selling subcontract manufacturing services into the Aerospace & Defence sector?
We're exclusively supporting a highly respected West Midlands manufacturer in the appointment of a Head of Sales & Marketing to lead its next phase of commercial growth.
Our client has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-precision machined components to customers operating in some of the world's most demanding industries. With significant investment in technology, manufacturing capability and continuous improvement, the business is well positioned for further expansion and is seeking an ambitious sales leader to help unlock its next stage of growth.
The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll lead the commercial strategy while remaining actively involved in winning new business and developing strategic customer relationships.
This is not a desk-based leadership role. We're looking for someone who understands the sector, enjoys being in front of customers and has the credibility to engage with procurement teams, manufacturing engineers and technical decision-makers across the Aerospace & Defence supply chain.
You'll inherit an established customer base and work with a business recognised for its engineering quality, manufacturing expertise and ability to deliver complex, high-value products and services.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and deliver the company's commercial strategy to drive sustainable growth.
* Identify and secure new subcontract machining opportunities within the Aerospace & Defence sector.
* Build long-term relationships with OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and major engineering organisations.
* Grow existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities in adjacent markets.
* Lead, coach and develop the commercial team.
* Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and forecasting process.
* Represent the business at customer meetings, exhibitions and industry events.
* Work closely with Engineering and Operations to develop customer-focused manufacturing solutions.
About You
You'll already have a strong reputation within the industry and understand what it takes to win high-value manufacturing contracts.
You'll ideally bring:
* Proven success selling subcontract manufacturing services.
* Existing relationships within the Aerospace & Defence supply chain, including OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
* Experience securing long-term engineering and manufacturing contracts.
* A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on approach to business development.
* Experience leading commercial teams and delivering profitable sales growth.
* A mechanical or manufacturing engineering background would be advantageous.
