Head of Science – Outstanding Secondary School, Hillingdon
Salary: Outer London UPS + TLR £10,000
Contract: Permanent | Full-time
Start Date: January or April 2026
An Outstanding secondary school in Hillingdon is looking for a Head of Science to lead their thriving department.
This is a great opportunity for a strong Science teacher who’s ready to step into leadership, or an experienced Subject Lead looking for a fresh start in a supportive, high-performing school. The Science department is well established, with a great team and excellent facilities – it just needs the right person to keep things moving forward.
About the role
You’ll be leading the department across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, managing a team of 10 teachers and technicians.
Working closely with the Head of Faculty, you’ll focus on maintaining high standards, supporting colleagues, and continuing to raise achievement across the board.
You’ll still teach Science yourself – but with a slightly reduced timetable so you have time to focus on leadership, planning and developing your team.
