Your Mission As Head of Sociology, you will lead the department with vision and purpose, delivering engaging lessons and fostering a culture of academic curiosity. You’ll inspire students to think critically, question assumptions, and develop a deep understanding of social structures and issues. What You’ll Do as a Head of Sociology Lead and manage the Sociology department, driving academic excellence. Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking Sociology lessons. Develop innovative teaching strategies that reflect current social issues. Monitor student progress and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Support and mentor colleagues within the department. Collaborate with school leadership to contribute to whole-school development. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. What You Bring Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong background in teaching Sociology. Proven leadership skills and a commitment to academic excellence. Deep understanding of sociological theories and contemporary issues. Excellent communication and organisational skills. A passion for inspiring students and fostering critical thinking. Why Join Us?
