Job Description
Time Appointments are proud to be working on behalf of a reputable and well-established wholesaler based in Harwich, who are currently seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Head of Supply Chain to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of the full supply chain function, driving efficiency and ensuring the seamless flow of goods from supplier to customer.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Lead demand and supply planning, forecasting, and alignment with business goals.
* Drive efficient business planning and data-driven decisions to enhance operational performance
* Optimise the end-to-end supply chain to improve inventory management, lead times, and on-time delivery
* Manage and build strong relationships with 3PL providers
* Collaborate with the Sales team to plan for upcoming promotions and events
* Conduct capacity planning in partnership with internal stakeholders
* Deliver regular reporting and business analysis to inform strategic decisions
* Proactively identify and address potential supply chain risks or disruptions
* Oversee inbound material scheduling in line with inventory targets and business needs
* Lead the implementation of supply chain infrastructure and process improvement initiatives
* Manage and develop a team of 7 FTE, including future recruitment, training, and performance reviews
* Monitor supply chain KPIs to ensure targets are consistently met
* Collaborate cross-functionally to align logistics with sourcing and demand forecasting
* Ensure departmental KPIs and company objectives are met
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience in supply chain or logistics management
* Deep understanding of supply chain operations and business processes
* Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in root cause analysis
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organised
* Demonstrated success managing multiple 3PL providers
* ERP system experience essential; SAP highly desirable
* Commercially minded with a strong customer focus
* Inclusive leadership style with the ability to drive team performance
* Capable of thriving in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment
