About the Role:
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Head of Year to join a secondary school in the Knowsley area in December 2025. You will be responsible for the pastoral and academic leadership, overseeing student welfare, behaviour, attendance, and progress.

Contract Type: Temporary, Long Term
Working Hours: Full time, 8:00am - 4.00pm
Salary: Paid to scale
Key Responsibilities:
Manage student welfare, wellbeing, and safeguarding.
Monitor and manage student behaviour, using school systems to track and address issues.
Work to prevent and address bullying, keeping detailed records of incidents.
Collaborate with the year team, including tutors, and other school leaders to ensure consistency and high standards
Provide leadership and vision for the year group, setting high expectations for students and staff.
Lead and coordinate the year team, potentially holding regular meetings and providing professional development. Requirements:
Proven experience as Head of Year in a UK secondary school.
Up-to-date Safeguarding training (desirable, but not essential as training can be provided).
Right to Work in the UK.
Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or willingness to apply for a new one.
