Location: Handsworth, Birmingham
Salary: £84,699 – £98,105 (L21 – L27, dependent on experience) + discretionary bonus
Pension: Enhanced contributions for qualified teachers (13.5% employer / 6.75% employee)
About the School:
An established specialist ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) day school for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils is moving to a larger, fully refurbished, state-of-the-art facility in Handsworth. This is a flagship school with significant investment in its facilities, resources, and learning environment.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Headteacher to lead this exciting transition. The ideal candidate will have substantial, recent experience as a Headteacher in a specialist or SEND setting, with proven success in strategic leadership, school improvement, and staff development.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage all aspects of the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes.

Develop and drive the strategic vision for a flagship school.

Support and develop staff, fostering a culture of excellence and inclusion.
*
Engage with parents, the local community, and stakeholders.

Oversee resources, facilities, and budgets effectively.
Person Specification:

Considerable, recent experience as a Headteacher in a similar specialist or SEND setting.

Strong understanding of ASC pupil needs and inclusive education strategies.
*
Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
*
Experience in managing school change and development projects.
