Job Description
A specialist day school in Cardiff is seeking an experienced Headteacher to lead the provision for children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Along with a salary of up to £54,000 per annum (negotiable, dependant on experience), you will also receive:

What you’ll be doing as Headteacher:
You’ll provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of the school, ensuring high standards of education, safeguarding, and compliance with Estyn and Welsh Government frameworks. This is a non-teaching leadership role, with only occasional classroom cover required when necessary.
Key responsibilities:
Driving school improvement and culture development
Leading safeguarding, behaviour and quality assurance
Embedding trauma-informed, inclusive practice
Building strong relationships with families and partners
Supporting continued growth and development of the provision
We’re looking for a Headteacher with:
Proven leadership experience at Headteacher/Principal or equivalent level
Background in SEMH, specialist or alternative provision
Strong understanding of Estyn/Welsh frameworks
Relational, visible and values-led leadership style
QTS or equivalent qualification
