Up to £50,000 + Package Health & Safety Advisor (12–18 Month Fixed-Term Contract) Based in Walsall, West Midlands (Office & Site-Based, Monday–Friday) Search² is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a family-run and well established manufacturing and engineering business to appoint a Health & Safety Advisor on a fixed-term contract. Why this could be the ideal opportunity for you You’re a proactive health and safety professional who enjoys combining shop-floor engagement with strategic input. You want the freedom to make improvements across a well-established business with leadership support from the Managing Director. You value a hands-on, people-focused culture, where safety and continuous improvement truly matter. You’re looking for a 12–18-month fixed-term role that offers stability, autonomy and the ability to shape systems and culture. What you will be doing Developing, implementing and maintaining company-wide health and safety plans and policies. Reviewing and facilitating procedures to establish a strong safety culture and legal compliance. Conducting site inspections, risk assessments and training across manufacturing and operational areas. Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions. Supporting and mentoring a junior health and safety team member, helping them develop towards a management role. Managing relationships with external stakeholders such as insurers, auditors, and accreditation bodies. Reporting on performance, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting the continuous improvement of the Integrated Management System. What you will need Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment as a Health & Safety Advisor / Manager. NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) and strong working knowledge of H&S legislation. Experience managing or supporting ISO-based systems (45001 / 9001 / 14001). Excellent communication and coaching skills – able to influence colleagues at all levels. Organised, pragmatic and solutions-oriented – confident working independently.
