Job Description

Role:
The H&S / Compliance Manager will be responsible for overseeing health, safety, and compliance across all sites. The role requires a proactive, positive, and open-minded approach to continuously improve H&S standards and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  * Manage and maintain H&S and compliance standards across all sites

  * Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections

  * Develop and implement policies and procedures to meet legal and company requirements

  * Provide training and support to staff to maintain H&S culture

  * Liaise with regulators and external bodies as required

  * Drive continuous improvement initiatives in health, safety, and environmental management

Requirements:

  * Proven experience in a heavy industry environment (waste & recycling, mining, quarrying, or similar)

  * NEBOSH General Certificate or above (mandatory)

  * Environmental qualification such as WAMITAB Level 4 (desirable)

  * Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence positive change

  * Confident, proactive, and solutions-focused

Details:

  * Working hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

  * Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 per annum

  * Annual leave: 23 days plus bank holidays

  * Pension: Standard company scheme

  * Travel: Expenses reimbursed
