Health & Safety, Environmental and Facilities Manager Location: Kent (Office-based) Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm Salary: £45,000-£49,000 (Dependent on experience)Join a family-run business with over 140 years of history, where core values are at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking a Health & Safety Officer who is passionate about H&S, Environmental, and Sustainability within a manufacturing context. This role offers a friendly and passionate work environment with no weekend work required. Day-to-day of the role: Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health. Adhere to, review, update, and communicate all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Meet statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including statutory training and reporting. Conduct and review risk assessments for all work equipment and operations. Document, investigate accidents and implement recommended improvements. Carry out safety inspections, manage fire drills and alarms, and ensure compliance with safety inspections, risk assessments, and lone working procedures. Coordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work, and procedures. Manage the company's Environmental & Sustainability strategy. Maintain accurate health and safety and training records. Establish documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks. Provide structured health & safety training throughout the company. Manage Health & Safety Committee meetings, including agenda setting, chairing, and minute distribution. Stay updated with relevant health, safety, and welfare legislation and communicate changes to the business. Compile and implement the Environmental and Sustainability aspects of the business. Mentor and develop the Environmental and Sustainability Coordinator. Required Skills & Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing. NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualification. COSHH trained. Strong knowledge of first aid practices and emergency response procedures. Proficient in root cause analysis techniques. Excellent report writing, communication, and presentation skills. Proven experience in Environmental and Facilities management. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
