Job Description

Job Summary: Provide visible Health and Safety leadership and direction on large infrastructure or construction projects as part of a dedicated Health and Safety team. Support project delivery by implementing health and safety decisions, driving best practices, and offering professional guidance to ensure compliance and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: * Serve as a Health & Safety advisor for designated project areas, staying current with legislation, trends, and professional standards to promote best practice. * Maintain and grow subject matter expertise while mentoring and supporting team development. * Advise project managers and stakeholders on health and safety matters to help achieve project goals safely and effectively. * Build and maintain productive relationships across internal teams and external partners to influence decision-making and improve safety performance. * Interpret and advise on contractual and statutory health and safety requirements to ensure compliance and safeguard the project’s integrity. * Foster collaborative relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers to support project objectives. Technical Competencies: * Strong understanding of health and safety standards and compliance evaluation. * Solid grasp of risk management in a construction environment. * Experience with incident reporting, investigation, and root cause analysis. * Ability to monitor and measure safety performance across project teams. * Proven knowledge of construction methodologies and their implications for site safety. * Comprehensive understanding of construction health and safety, including occupational health. * Familiarity with behavioural safety approaches and strategies. Qualifications, Certifications, and Experience: * Substantial experience in a health and safety advisory or management role. * Previous involvement in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. * Strong working knowledge of construction processes and associated safety risks. * NEBOSH accreditation (or equivalent health and safety certification). * Industry experience in sectors such as construction, rail, civil engineering, or similar environments. * Demonstrated experience managing and influencing diverse teams.
