Carbon60 is currently looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join a client of ours based in Broughton. This role is a contract role until October 2026 and will likely be extended.
As the Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the local FMRE (Facilities Management, Real Estate) team to implement appropriate risk controls and maintain compliance across the company's activities and service providers. This will involve conducting inspections, reviewing safety management systems, and providing expert advice on strategic projects.
The rates for this role will be Inside IR35:
Up to £29.89 per hour PAYE depending on experience
Up to £40.00 per hour depending on experience
Key Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Manager:
- Ensure compliance with requirements for the introduction of new plant, equipment, and ongoing maintenance
- Review the safety management systems of prospective FMRE contractors through the pre-qualification process
- Conduct EHS-related inspections on internal operations and activities carried out by service providers
- Provide competent environment, health, and safety advice for a wide range of strategic projects
- Implement processes and complete compliance audits to ensure adherence to relevant legal requirements
- Investigate work-related incidents and environmental incidents, and ensure remedial actions are implemented
The ideal candidate for the Health and Safety Manager role will possess the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) and have demonstrated experience in reporting to and working with key stakeholders to implement safety-related projects. You should have a clear understanding of the practical application of health and safety standards and a proactive attitude towards continuous professional development.
