Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Health & Social Care Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching across KS3–KS5, inspiring students to achieve their best and preparing them for future pathways in health, social care, and related professions. Key Responsibilities * Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons in Health & Social Care in line with national curriculum and exam board requirements (BTEC / GCSE / A-Level). * Teach and assess students across KS3, KS4 and KS5, ensuring excellent outcomes. * Develop and adapt schemes of work, resources and assessments to support student progress. * Monitor and evaluate student performance, providing constructive feedback and reporting on progress. * Differentiate teaching methods to support SEN, EAL, and mixed-ability learners. * Maintain high standards of classroom management and promote a positive learning environment. * Support students with coursework, assignments, and exam preparation. * Contribute to departmental development and whole-school initiatives. * Attend parents’ evenings, staff meetings and professional development sessions as required. * Uphold safeguarding policies and promote the welfare of students at all times. Person Specification Essential: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a relevant degree in Health & Social Care or related subject. * Experience teaching Health & Social Care up to KS5 (BTEC and/or A-Level). * Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. * Excellent communication and organisational abilities. * Commitment to inclusive teaching and supporting student wellbeing. Desirable: * Experience as a form tutor or with pastoral responsibilities. * Knowledge of current developments in Health & Social Care education. * Ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities or enrichment programmes.
