Job Description
Apricus Resourcing are working with a leading drug and alcohol recovery charity who are looking for a Health and Wellbeing nurse for an ongoing locum role based within a service in Bradford working 4 days per week 9am-5pm.
The role is based within a service that offers a range of treatments. This includes one-to-one support, health and wellbeing checks and structured group therapy. They also provide support with housing and employment.
Within your role you will:
* To provide alcohol assessments, community detoxifications and referrals to in- patient or other support networks including mutual aid.
* To develop onsite service community alcohol detoxifications, working alongside operatonal colleagues.
* To work with local trusts and hospitals in providing a managed pathway for people with alcohol misuse, through appropriate referral process or direct referral.
* To provide healthcare assessment across services (including needle exchanges and outreach services where relevant to the service).
* Provide a BBV service that incorporates screening and vaccination for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C screening, re-screening and treatment provision in partnership with specialist services.
* Co-ordinate and deliver call and recall services for Hepatitis B & Hepatitis A Immunisations, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV Testing.
* Along with the wider teams work to promote harm reduction across needle exchanges, outreach services. hostels and other venues, where relevant to the service.
* Deliver basic wound management and work with specialist services in delivering more complex treatment provision to service users.
The manager is looking for nurses who have experience in working within drug and alcohol related positions or services. It’s also important you have knowledge
The position available is based on a rolling locum basis initially until December 2025 with a view to extend and is paying £26 ltd / £21.10 PAYE and you'll be working 30 hrs per week between Mon - fri 9-5.
