Job Description

Our client is a well-established and successful company, they are looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. The role entails upholding the utmost safety standards, you will provide guidance, advice, and support to employees and management team, emphasising a robust commitment to compliance and risk mitigation. Your overarching goal is to help cultivate a workplace culture that prioritises the safety and well-being of all employees. PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA: * You have previous experience in a specialist Health Safety & Environmental role. * You have an Engineering background/understanding, preferably from the Automotive industry, with a mechanical mindset. * Operational knowledge of RCV (Refuse Collection Vehicles) will be a distinct advantage. * NEBOSH or IOSH qualified (if not, IOSH 4 day training will be provided). * ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 awareness. * You have an understanding of SOP's. * You are PC literate with basic Excel & Word, along with good administrative skills. * You are physically fit, and able to comfortably climb in, out, over, and around vehicles. * You are willing to travel to sites throughout the UK. Salary: Up to £48,000 depending on experience. Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Main Duties and Responsibilities: * Liaison with local site managers, H&S Compliance Manager & UK Health & Safety Manager regarding Health and Safety priorities and development. * Working with Health and Safety Team to improve Risk Assessments format and system. * Direct briefings to staff on Safe Systems of Work and SOPs. * Writing, updating and communicating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). * Working within our Aftermarket network to proactively improve safety. * Working with SCMs on implementing improvement measures and initiatives post audits. * Working with RSMs ensuring that plant & equipment is good condition and used appropriately. * Identifying potential hazards. * Determining ways of reducing risks. * Awareness advice on DE safety procedures access and use. Accountabilities & Commitments Required: * Quality & Environmental Responsibilities: Responsible for the management, compliance and upkeep of the quality & environmental procedures, records, and documents relevant to the role. * Safety Leadership: Act as a role model for safety, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment. * Compliance Adherence: Ensure all activities comply with local, national, and international safety regulations and standards. * Continuous Improvement: Proactively seek opportunities to improve safety processes and procedures. * Employee Engagement: Commit to engaging with employees at all levels to foster a culture of safety and well-being.
