Pin Point Recruitment is recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor to join a well-established manufacturing business operating across multiple UK locations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Health & Safety professional looking to take the next step in their career. Working from the Sutton-in-Ashfield site, you will support the wider Health & Safety function, ensuring compliance, promoting a positive safety culture and assisting in the continuous improvement of Health & Safety standards across the business.
The successful candidate will work closely with site management and the Group Health & Safety team, providing guidance and support to help maintain a safe and compliant working environment within a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
The Role
As the Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of Health & Safety policies, procedures and programmes. You will help drive continuous improvement initiatives, conduct inspections and audits, and assist with investigations to ensure lessons learned are effectively implemented.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being visible on the shop floor and actively engaging with employees at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the implementation and maintenance of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
* Carry out regular workplace inspections and audits to ensure compliance with company standards and legislation.
* Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
* Support the completion and review of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
* Promote a positive Health & Safety culture across the site.
* Deliver toolbox talks and assist with Health & Safety training programmes.
* Ensure Health & Safety records, documentation and reporting are maintained accurately.
* Assist with contractor management and permit-to-work processes.
* Support emergency preparedness activities, including fire safety procedures and drills.
* Work closely with managers and employees to identify hazards and implement proactive improvements.
* Assist with monthly Health & Safety reporting and KPI tracking.
* Support internal audits and compliance initiatives across the site.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, production, engineering or a similar environment.
* Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
* NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH qualification.
* Experience carrying out risk assessments and workplace inspections.
* Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage employees at all levels.
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
* A proactive approach with a genuine passion for Health & Safety.
Desirable
* Experience within a multi-site manufacturing environment.
* Knowledge of ISO management systems.
* Experience delivering Health & Safety training or toolbox talks.
