About the Company: Our client is a Tier One Main Contractor who is currently operating with a turnover of £20 billion, across the whole group and £100M in the UK. They have offices worldwide; in the UK, their head office is based in the West Country and they have local depots based in London, the West Midlands, and Yorkshire. Their overall specialism in the UK is large Civil Engineering and infrastructure projects, across rail, tunnelling, highways, and bridges. They have worked on large schemes such as Crossrail (Tunnelling & Station upgrades), London Power Tunnels, M4 improvement schemes, Queensferry Crossing & Tottenham Hale Station. About the opportunity: Due to the ongoing expansion of the company and winning of new projects, our client is recruiting permanently for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor with vast knowledge working within the civils infrastructure sector in the UK. Reporting to the HSE Lead, you will be responsible for carrying out risk review meetings to understand and forecast potential project and task specific risks; developing control measures for identified risks; assisting project teams in the development of safe systems of works; carrying out site inspections and audits; completing reports and assisting teams in closeouts and assisting the HSE Lead in the development of new systems and processes. About the salary and rewards: For this permanent opportunity, my client is targeting professionals looking to earn anywhere from £50,000 - £55,000 per annum; however there may be flexibility on this as the specific salary will depend on experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer which includes a car allowance of £5,060, private health care, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays) and a 8% employer pension contribution. Lastly, you’ll be put through relevant training and progression plans will be put in place so you have a streamlined development plan for the future. About the requirements: To be considered for this opportunity, professionals must hold a NEBOSH in Construction and have proven experience working specifically within a tier 1 civil engineering contractor in the UK that specialises in highways and rail infrastructure. Additionally, you must reside within commutable distance from their office in Swindon (as no hybrid working is available) and be willing to travel throughout the UK for site visits. Lastly, as this is a permanent opportunity, professionals must be able to demonstrate longevity in the work place, holding each previous appointment for a minimum of 2 years.
