Job Specification – Health & Safety Process Consultant (Contract)
Location: Grays, Thurrock
Contract: Short-term (project-based)
About the Role
We are looking for a practical and experienced Health & Safety Process Consultant to support our manufacturing site in Grays, Thurrock. This is a short-term contract role designed to put the right paperwork, systems, and processes in place, ensuring compliance and leaving the business with a clear, sustainable framework.
Key Responsibilities
* Review current health & safety practices, paperwork, and compliance status.
* Develop and implement:
* Method Statements and Risk Assessments (RAMS)
* Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)
* Control Plans and supporting documentation
* Introduce and document simple, effective processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
* Train and guide managers and staff on new processes, ensuring smooth handover.
* Conduct audits and checks to ensure everything is fit for purpose before project completion.
Requirements
* Proven experience in setting up and embedding health & safety processes in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Process and Production engineering is essential
* Strong understanding of UK health & safety compliance requirements.
* Hands-on experience creating documentation and systems that are practical and easy to follow.
* Ability to work independently, deliver results quickly, and hand over effectively.
Contract Details
* Location: On-site in Grays, Thurrock (some flexibility may be considered).
* Duration: Short-term contract (expected 3–6 months or until project completion).
* Remuneration: Day rate or fixed project fee (dependent on experience)Before You Apply
