Excellence is at the heart of everything they do and as Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager, you will be responsible for promoting a best-in-class safety culture through positive engagement with the whole workforce.
The Role
The successful Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager will:
* Lead the Health, Safety & Environment team, promoting a strong safety culture across the site.
* Ensure full compliance with HSE legislation, industry standards and ISO 14001 / 45001 requirements.
* Oversee risk assessments for all operations and ensure robust systems for managing hazards, contractors, equipment, PPE and hazardous substances.
* Take the lead on accident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions to drive continuous improvement.
* Deliver regular safety briefings, toolbox talks and training, keeping staff engaged and informed on best practice.
* Advise managers and senior leadership on HSE matters, providing reports on performance, incidents and improvements.
* Carry out audits and inspections, ensuring compliance with both internal standards and external regulations.
* Identify opportunities to enhance systems, processes and culture, developing long-term strategies for improvement.
* Work with HR and occupational health to support employee wellbeing and health surveillance programmes.
* Maintain and develop the integrated HSE management system to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice.
The Candidate
The successful Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager will:
* NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
* Food manufacturing experience or similar.
* Experience conducting risk assessments and accident investigations.
* Familiarity with ISO 45001.
