Your new role
Due to our continued growth, we have an exciting new opportunity in our Health & Safety team. We are looking for a dynamic and proactive individual to support and enhance our health, safety, and environmental performance across a variety of projects within the engineering and construction sectors. This position offers the chance to make a real impact on the safety culture of our organisation, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and promoting best practices across all areas of our operations. Reporting to the SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety policies and procedures to ensure the well-being of all team members. You will work closely with various departments to assess risks, conduct safety audits, and drive initiatives that enhance workplace safety across the organisation. This role includes responsibility for supporting our personnel working on both internal and third-party sites. Regular site visits (including to third-party managed construction sites) are required 1-2 times per month, where you will monitor site conditions, ensure compliance with internal standards, and represent the company's interests in maintaining a safe working environment for our staff. This role is ideally suited for a capable HSE professional seeking to progress their career. You will have the opportunity to shape and influence the direction of health and safety practices across a growing and established business.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally 5+ years' experience in a senior HSE role (HSE Advisor or Manager) within engineering or construction sectors, including 3 years in a construction-specific role with strong site-based safety experience. Hands on experience working on construction sites, supporting the implementation and management of Health & Safety protocol
Solid understanding of Health & Safety legislation relevant to engineering and construction industries. NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent. Full driving license. Proficient in Microsoft office applications. Strong team player with the ability to communicate effectively.
