Job Description

Health And Safety Advisor Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 Orion is partnered with a well-established Recycling company located in Warwickshire which is recruiting for a highly experienced and confident Health and Safety Manager. They are looking for a strong team player who has a collaborative approach to team leadership The focus of this Health and Safety Manager is: Collaborating with Senior leadership team to ensure EHS compliance. Championing a safe working environment and safety first culture through engagement and visible leadership. Leading EHS audits and site inspections, identify non-conformances, and driving continuous improvement. Ensuring compliance with relevant UK legislation, including Health & Safety at Work Act and Environmental standards. Liaising effectively with regulatory authorities such as Environment Agency and HSE. Developing, implementing and updating EHS policies and procedures. Driving EHS training and communication. Leading incident investigations, conducting root cause analyses, and implementing preventive actions. Reporting all accidents and near miss incidents, driving to close-out with root cause identified. Managing and continuously improving accreditation standards (ISO14001, ISO45001 and Recyclass). Delivering training, workshops and tool box talks to upskill employees and contractors in health and safety, environmental best practice. Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reports to ensure readiness for audits and inspections. Establishing a comprehensive programme of safety audits, site walks, Gemba walks, risk assessments and developing the emergency business continuity plans. Providing H&S input/ support with projects. Providing reports as required to management on safety initiatives, identifying exposures and opportunities. Monitoring and reporting on EHS KPIs. Leading H&S Meetings, the election of H&S Representatives and management of actions arising. Being the site lead at corporate EHS meetings, interpreting and implementing corporate initiatives.Health & Safety Manager Must Haves: NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification). IOSH Managing Safely. ISO Lead Auditor Qualification. Manufacturing, recycling or waste management background. In-depth knowledge of UK HSE Legislation (COSHH, PUWER, LOLR, CDM) and environmental regs. UK Current driving licence. Experience in the application of EHS practices in a UK manufacturing environment.
