Job Description

Health and Safety manager Harrogate A highly rewarding role with ensuring health and safety regulations and that facilities are maintained to support a safe, efficient, and functional environment for residents within a supported housing environments across Yorkshire The role may suit someone with health and safety experience within an educational, social housing, public sector or health care setting looking for their next challenge. The role: A mobile position to ensure the health and safety of residents in a supported housing environment Providing expert guidance, teaching and advice to managers and enabling teams, playing an influential part in leading the approach to the development, implementation and maintenance of health, safety and environmental compliance across the organisation. Provide consistent and up-to-date tracking of relevant legislative changes Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments Ensure that all accidents are documented, investigated and recommended improvements implemented Work proactively with managers and other key staff to establish and maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of Health and Safety within their areas of responsibility, Conducting regular audits Liaise with external health and safety consultants in the provision of training programmes and health and safety services Ensure that all necessary statutory records are kept and suitably maintained Ensure that all staff are kept informed with regards to health and safety and environmental issues Ensure that health and safety training is provided as appropriate Collate all incident data relating to health, safety and environmental issues and where appropriate carry out investigations and produce reports The person NEBOSH or IOSH qualified Previous experience of working in a health and safety role ideally in health, social care, housing or similar The ability to communicate at all levels with respect for others, excellent interpersonal and communication skills Able to analyse data effectively Have a positive understanding and attitude of equality towards vulnerable people Ideally have some technical or construction knowledge Full clean driving licence and happy to travel.
