Health & Safety Manager – Construction (Site-Based)
Location: Stansted, Essex (full-time, site-based)
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 + full benefits package
Type: Permanent | Full-time
We’re recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager to join a leading main contractor delivering a major construction project in the Stansted area. This is a permanent, full-time role, based on site, within a live airport environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety professional with experience in aviation, rail, or other high-security infrastructure projects—confident in logistics-heavy, complex environments.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Oversee site-based Health & Safety activity on a large construction scheme
• Conduct inspections, audits, and safety walkarounds
• Manage and review RAMS, permits, and method statements
• Deliver inductions and toolbox talks
• Lead on incident reporting and investigations
• Support a proactive safety culture across site teams
• Maintain Health & Safety documentation and reports
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations
• Liaise with stakeholders, clients, and regulatory bodies
Required Skills & Experience:
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum)
• 5+ years’ experience in construction Health & Safety
• Background in live environments (airports, rail, secure sites)
• Strong knowledge of CDM, UK HSE legislation & ISO 45001
• Ability to ensure compliance and drive on-site best practice
• Confident communicator with a hands-on approach
• Full UK driving licence
• Airside experience (desirable but not essential)
