The Supply Register is currently inviting expressions of interest from qualified and enthusiastic Health & Social Care Lecturers to join our bank staff supporting NCG South London Colleges, including Southwark College, Lewisham College, and the HE Centre at Harbour Exchange in Canary Wharf.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced Health & Social Care Lecturers seeking flexible teaching opportunities within a dynamic Further and Higher Education environment.
As a Health & Social Care Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and industry-relevant lessons that help learners develop the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours required for careers within the health, social care, and wider care sectors. Bank Health & Social Care Lecturer staff play an important role in supporting curriculum delivery and ensuring learners receive high-quality education across a range of programmes.
The Role
As a Health & Social Care Lecturer, your responsibilities will include:
Delivering high-quality teaching across Health & Social Care courses from Level 1 to Level 5
Teaching a range of subjects including health and wellbeing, safeguarding, human development, equality and diversity, communication, and person-centred care
Planning and preparing engaging, inclusive, and learner-focused lessons
Monitoring student progress and providing timely feedback and academic support
Supporting learners to achieve their qualifications and career aspirations within the care sector
Creating a positive, professional, and inclusive learning environment
Contributing to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives where required
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent)
Degree in Health & Social Care, Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, Healthcare Practice, or a related subject
Experience teaching Health & Social Care within Further Education, Higher Education, schools, or training environments
Strong classroom management, communication, and organisational skills
Ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds
Desirable:
Experience delivering BTEC Health & Social Care, T Levels, Access to HE, or Higher Education Health & Social Care programmes
Relevant industry experience within health, social care, nursing, residential care, or community support settings
Experience with coursework assessment, internal verification, and quality assurance processes
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
