Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team for one of our clients in PE34 providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals in a care home setting. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily needs of our residents while ensuring their comfort and dignity.
Responsibilities
* Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Support residents in following their individual care plans, ensuring that their specific needs are met.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to provide updates on resident well-being.
* Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety during transportation.
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to senior staff.
* Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the care home environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as needed.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a healthcare or home care setting is desirable but not essential.
* Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of working independently when required.
* A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents as needed.
* Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
* A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
* DBS is required or one in process
