Job description We have an exciting opportunity to join our Heavy Vehicle team as a Vehicle Tutor/Lecturer working from 2 of our new clients Academies, We are an OFSTED Good provider offering Motor Vehicle Technician opportunities to young people. You will be required to carry out all duties in accordance with the Education Inspection Framework requirements and organisational processes and policies. The Skillnet Apprenticeship Programme is an award winning apprenticeship that offers great career opportunities for school and college leavers at our network of Heavy Vehicle dealerships that sell, service and repair our vehicles. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB To teach and facilitate learning for all students through managing courses and learning programmes and assessment, and by contributing to pastoral systems and curriculum innovation, development and implementation. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * To teach level 2 & 3 programmes to 16 – 19+ learners from various locations as requested * To assist in the development of the existing courses available to students * To assist the day-to-day activities of classes and specific courses * Undertake the duties associated with learning programmes with regard to preparation, teaching and assessment in under-pinning knowledge, assignments, practical work and any additional work * To deliver new activities that come on-line to include planning and organisation of programmes within the field of experience * Attend development meetings as required * Participate in marketing activities as required * Assist with enrolment duties, registrations / examinations and initial assessments * Assist with and formulate programmes for students with additional learning and / or additional social needs * Adhere to Skillnet policies / guidelines including those relating to Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Initial Student Testing, Learning Difficulties, Disciplinary Procedures and Guidelines for using the Skillnet Centre * Actively participate in / contribute to any inspections carried out by external bodies * Assist with evening activities undertaken by students on block release * Undertake staff development activities as deemed necessary * Be involved in annual appraisal systems as an appraisee * To represent Skillnet at all times in a professional manner To hold and carry out a cross centre responsibility as required by the Skillnet training team. Qualifications * GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent * GCSE in IT or equivalent * Relevant trade qualification * Functional Skills (English, Maths & ICT) - Level 2 Skills & Competencies * Ability to influence learners in a positive way * Technical ability – Level 3 * Word / Excel & PPT competence Personal qualities * Presentable * Influential * Good communicator * Passionate about the Automotive industry killnet is an equal opportunities employer. To keep colleagues well-informed with updates about Safeguarding and Prevent delivered through frequent 121’s, team meetings and hot topics. Confidentiality – we will only share private and sensitive information about a learner when it is in the best interests to do so, e.g. if there is a Safeguarding concern.
