Helpdesk Infrastructure Engineer

 Northampton (Need to be a car driver)

 £35,000 - £40,000 (depending on experience)

 Full time: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm (37.5 hours per week)

The Role

 We are seeking a Helpdesk Infrastructure Engineer to join a supportive and forward-thinking IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for an IT professional to expand their technical knowledge while working with a diverse range of systems, customers, and technologies.

 The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support, helping customers resolve issues and ensuring their IT environments continue to operate effectively. The role will cover a variety of technologies, including Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, networking, and cloud-based solutions.

 The position will involve delivering support remotely, with occasional travel to customer locations to assist with on-site technical requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Provide IT support by phone, email, and remote access.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Support customer computers, servers, networks, and cloud systems.
Install and configure hardware and software.
Maintain accurate records of work completed.
Create and update technical documentation.
Carry out occasional on-site customer support. 

 About You:

 We are looking for an experienced IT support professional with:

3+ years’ experience in an IT support or infrastructure role.
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
A customer-focused approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.Experience with the following technologies is required:

Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Networking, and VPNs.
Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, and Defender.Experience with firewalls, switches, servers, storage, virtualisation, and Microsoft certifications (AZ-900/AZ-104) would be advantageous. Knowledge of mobile devices and Mac, iOS, Android, or Linux environments would also be beneficial.
