Job Description
HGV Class 2 Driver – Waste & Recycling Operations
The Role
We are seeking experienced and professional HGV Class 2 Drivers to join the Waste & Recycling team. This role involves operating a variety of vehicles across commercial and municipal contracts, ensuring the safe and efficient collection of waste and recycling streams.
The Duties
* Drivers will work across a range of vehicle types, including:
* RCV (Refuse Collection Vehicle)
* FEL (Front-End Loader)
* RORO (Roll-on Roll-off)
* Skip trucks
* Top loaders
* Delivery trucks
You will be responsible for collecting:
* General waste
* Recycling
* Food waste
* Glass
* Bulky items
Shifts & Hours
* Monday to Friday (early morning starts, typically 4–6am)
* Optional Saturdays depending on requirements
* Up to 48 hours per week, with overtime available
Requirements
* Full UK Driving Licence (Category C / Class 2)
* Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph
* Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience (waste/recycling experience preferred)
* Ability to work safely, follow site rules, and manage time effectively
* Good communication and customer service skills
Pay & Benefits
* Basic salary: £39,800 per year
* OTE: £47,600+ with overtime
