Job Description
We are looking for a HGV Class 1 Night Driver to work for our client on a Temp to Perm basis.
Initially you will work via our agency for a number of weeks before moving over to the client to a full time permanent position.
Monday to Friday nights plus every other Sunday night
HGV class 1 night driving experience preferred
Temp to Perm Opportunity available for the right candidate
Driver Hire, the UK’s largest specialist transport and logistics recruitment company are looking to recruit a HGV Class 1 Night Driver to carry out trunking work Monday to Friday and every second Sunday.
Starting at 2300hrs each night, you will be required to carry out a trunk run delivering quality meat products to the client's other sites in the south.
HGV Class 1 Night Driver will need:
Cat-C+E Licence
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph card
No more than 6 points (No DD's, DR's, IN's, TT's)
Excellent customer service skills and good literacy
Full UK Driving licence, C+E Class 1 entitlement held for 1 year
Able to work to tight deadlines
Please note, we will not be able to consider applications from anybody who hasn't held their entitlement for a minimum of one year.
HGV Class 1 Night Driver Duties will include:
Driving company vehicle responsibly and safely, obeying all traffic laws
Carrying out required daily vehicle checks to ensure procedural compliance
Maintaining regular contact with Branch Managers on daily progress
Completing paperwork accurately as instructed
Dealing with customers face to face in a polite and courteous manner
We offer a true, honest, and personal service and you will deal directly with the business owner. Plus, attractive minimum rate of pay of £17.00 per hour (plus holiday pay at a rate on 12.07%) paid weekly via PAYE. Higher rates of pay for Sunday shifts.
