Overview

We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers to utilise their skills in a dynamic and supportive environment, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service.

Duties

  * Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, predominantly with a flatbed configuration, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies

  * Plan and execute delivery routes, ensuring timely collection and drop-off of goods

  * Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects or issues promptly

  * Secure cargo appropriately on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit, ensuring compliance with safety standards

  * Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with legal requirements

  * Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays

  * Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, following health and safety protocols

Skills

  * Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed vehicles

  * Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods

  * Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record

  * Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS or traditional maps

  * Good organisational skills to plan routes effectively and manage delivery schedules

  * Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks when required

  * Prior experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided where necessary

Salary & Terms

  * Monday to Friday

  * 4am start

  * £16.95 per hour

  * Immediate Start
