Job Description
HGV Class 2 Driver
Salary: £17.00 p/hour
Thurrock
HGV, Group C, Class 2 Driver needed to support a client in Thurrock. This is a full-time permanent position, Monday – Friday 10 / 12 hour days.
Key Duties
* Delivery of steel products, customers are throughout the UK, usually only 1-2 drops per day
* Carry out day to day vehicle checks
* Providing customers with excellent customer service
* General housekeeping of the vehicles being driven
* Drivers will be expected to complete nights out in the vehicle away from site, although this is only usually once per week.
* Secure own loads at the start and during the day and for any return collections.
* Depending on customer requirements, you could be driving a range of vehicles throughout each week, this can include 18tonne rigid and a 26tonne rigid, 7.5tonne vehicles and vans.
* Sites will be able to provide offloading assistance through the use of MHE and forklifts, however there is an element of handball offloading involved.
Key Details, Experience and Requirements
* £17.00 per house, usually working between 39-44 hours per week.
* Reputable company with a great team of drivers
* Overtime is offered on occasion, although not mandatory
* You will need a Group C / Class 2 / HGV licence with no more than 6 points
* Valid CPC Qualification, valid Class 2 HGV license
* Any points including the following will be rejected; DD codes, CD codes, DG codes, UT codes.
* Drivers to be able to confidently demonstrate the use of ratchet straps, securing a load and tachograph law.
