HGV Class 2 Driver / Depot Support Operative Location: Edinburgh West Rate of Pay: £15.53 per hour Hours: Monday to Friday - 36 hours per week Duration: Initial 6 months (with strong potential for extension or permanent role) Holidays: Up to 33 days per year Are you an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver looking for a dynamic role that goes beyond just driving? Join a respected public sector organisation in Edinburgh and become a vital part of a busy Fleet Services and Depot Operations Team. This role offers a blend of hands-on driving, depot support, vehicle preparation, and essential administrative tasks. What You'll Be Doing: Drive & Deliver: Safely collect and deliver vehicles (up to 26 tonnes) across various client sites in Edinburgh. Maintain the Fleet: Inspect vehicles, coordinate repairs, and liaise with external suppliers and contractors regarding warranties and hires. Depot Operations: Assist with depot housekeeping, refuelling, plant/vehicle movement, and general facilities maintenance. Vehicle & Stock Prep: Support vehicle preparation, washing, defect reporting, and material stock control. Admin Support: Update internal systems, maintain records, input data, and manage material requests efficiently. Health & Safety Focus: Follow strict procedures while working with hazardous materials, heavy plant, and in outdoor conditions. Why Join Us?
