Global Highland are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Driver to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a reputable business, offering a competitive hourly rate and a varied role that involves collections and deliveries, including travel to Stornoway.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Drive vehicles in accordance with the law and safe working practices.
*
Operate within tachograph law, driver hours, and working time directive requirements.
*
Safely load and secure vehicles to minimise risk of damage or injury.
*
Complete timely collections and deliveries as scheduled.
*
Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any issues.
*
Maintain cleanliness of the driver’s cab and vehicle exterior.
*
Complete all required delivery/collection paperwork and maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel use, and costs.
*
Attend essential training and comply with company policies, procedures, and Health & Safety standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
*
Valid, clean HGV Licence.
*
Minimum of 1 year’s HGV driving experience.
*
Strong knowledge of geographical areas.
*
Excellent timekeeping, reliability, and ability to follow instructions.
*
Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
*
Familiarity with standard vehicle equipment (e.g. pallet trucks).
