HGV Fitter
Location: Stockport
Pay: £19.22/hour (Days) | £25.56/hour (Nights)
A leading defence manufacturer is seeking an experienced HGV Fitter to support the final assembly of armoured military vehicles as part of a skilled production team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assemble armoured wheeled vehicles and sub-assemblies
Diagnose and rectify faults on mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Read and interpret engineering drawings and SOPs
Use diagnostic software for installation and fault-finding
Order required parts and equipment
Accurately complete job documentation in SAP
Collaborate with other departments as needed
Support and mentor less experienced team members
Adhere to 5S and workplace safety standards
Willingness to occasionally travel for training, including overseas
Requirements:
Relevant qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3)
Experience in specialist vehicle assembly or military vehicle maintenance
Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Familiarity with technical documents and quality/safety systems
Strong communication and organisational skills
