HGV Mechanic – Cookstown Depot
Location: Cookstown
Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–5:00pm, Friday 7:30am–4:00pm, Saturday (rotational) 7:45am–12:30pm
Salary: Competitive (based on experience) About the Role
My client is looking for an experienced and motivated HGV Mechanic to join our team in Cookstown. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet of heavy goods vehicles — including low loaders, HIAB cranes, tractor units, and rigid trucks — ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Carry out maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of HGVs.
Diagnose and rectify faults using diagnostic software and workshop tools.
Work closely with the Stores team to source and fit required parts.
Maintain accurate job sheets and service records.
Provide excellent customer service at all times.
Attend occasional roadside breakdowns when required.
Ensure all work complies with company health, safety, and quality standards.About You
Proven experience as an HGV mechanic or similar role.
Skilled in fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of diesel engines.
Confident using diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.
Team player with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
Experience within the truck and trailer industry is essential.
A relevant mechanic qualification is desirable.
Welding ability is an advantage.
