HGV Technician (Newark)
Location: Nottinghamshire
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per year
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (alternating shifts: 06:00 - 14:00 / 14:00 - 22:00)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

A well-established commercial vehicle workshop in Newark is looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic to join their team. This role involves carrying out servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a range of HGVs and trailers to MOT standard, working across a rotating early and late shift pattern.
Key Responsibilities for HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic:
Carry out routine maintenance and repairs to VOSA standards
Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
Attend roadside breakdowns and customer sites as needed
Work closely with the parts department to ensure parts availability
Accurately complete job cards and service documentation
Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
Stay up to date with technical training and product knowledge
Requirements for HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic:
Previous experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
Strong diagnostic skills and understanding of workshop procedures
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
LGV/HGV licence and/or ADR qualification
Customer-focused with a proactive approach to fault-finding and repairs
