HGV MECHANIC / MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN OPPORTUNITY WITH LEADING WASTE & RECYCLING BUSINESS IN YORKSHIRE
TITLE: HGV Mechanic / Maintenance Technician – Waste & Recycling Sector
CLIENT: A well-established regional leader in Waste Management & Recycling, now seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic to strengthen their team.
PACKAGE: £40-45k DOE
Holiday & pension scheme
HOURS: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm, with occasional Saturday mornings on a rota basis (7:00am – 12:00pm)

ROLE: HGV Mechanic / Maintenance Technician – Waste & Recycling Sector
In this position, you will be responsible for delivering both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on HGV vehicles. The role involves preparing HGVs for MOT and routine inspections, conducting fault finding and diagnostics, and completing timely repairs. You will have your own tools. You will be working as part of a small, experienced team alongside other mechanics, while maintaining the highest Health & Safety standards at all times.
EXPERIENCE: HGV Mechanic / Maintenance Technician – Waste & Recycling Sector
You will have solid practical knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics and hold an NVQ or City & Guilds qualification, although time-served engineers will also be considered. A strong mechanical maintenance background within heavy industry is essential. Prior exposure to the Waste Management & Recycling sector would be advantageous, though candidates from processing, construction, or other heavy industries will also be considered.
