Job Description
Job Title: Experienced HGV Mechanic / Fitter
Location: Yorkshire Region (within 1 hour of HU7)
Salary: £20.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Company Vehicle: Van supplied for commuting
This is a mobile role, with a van provided for commuting and on-site work. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a mixed fleet of HGVs, plant equipment, and associated machinery, ensuring reliability and compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in HGVs, plant equipment, and associated systems.
*
Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing.
*
Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and electrical systems.
*
Carry out on-site and workshop-based repairs as required.
*
Maintain service records and complete job sheets accurately.
*
Ensure all work is compliant with health & safety regulations.
*
Respond to breakdowns promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
*
Proven experience as an HGV mechanic/fitter.
*
Solid experience with plant machinery maintenance and repair.
*
Strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems.
*
Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred).
*
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence an advantage but not essential).
*
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
*
Reliable, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
