Refuse Driver (Class 2) – Newport

Location: Docks Way, Newport, NP20 2NS
Start Date: 23/02
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Contract: 9 month + ongoing
Pay: £13.26 per hour PAYE / £17.10 Umbrella

We’re recruiting for an experienced Class 2 Refuse Driver to join the waste and recycling team in Newport. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work, steady hours, and being part of a reliable local authority team.

Key Responsibilities

  * Driving a Class 2 refuse vehicle on scheduled collection routes

  * Supporting the crew with waste and recycling collections when required

  * Ensuring safe, compliant driving at all times

  * Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any issues

  * Representing the service professionally within the community

Requirements

  * Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence

  * CPC and Digi Card

  * Previous refuse or local authority experience is beneficial but not essential

  * Good reliability and a positive, team‑focused attitude
